Līvāni
The partnership between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Livani is one of the areas of the community’s international cooperation. The cities have maintained partnership relations since 2011, and Livani is officially included in the list of Kamianets-Podilskyi’s partner cities.
Restoration and Development of the Partnership
The partnership between the cities encompasses cultural, municipal, and humanitarian cooperation. An important milestone in the development of modern cooperation was 2026, when the partnership gained new momentum through direct exchanges of experience and working contacts between representatives of the two communities.
From 15 to 20 July 2026, an official delegation from the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council paid a working visit to Latvia. The visit was held to mark the 100th anniversary of the city of Livani. During the visit, representatives of Kamianets-Podilskyi congratulated their Latvian partners on the anniversary and expressed their gratitude for Latvia’s support for Ukraine.
One of the key areas of current cooperation is the exchange of experience between local self-government bodies. During a meeting at the Livani City Council, representatives of Kamianets-Podilskyi familiarized themselves with Latvian approaches to municipal management, the digitalization of administrative services, and the functioning of local government authorities.
Humanitarian and Practical Support
An important component of the partnership is support for Kamianets-Podilskyi from Livani. As a result of previous negotiations, the Kamianets-Podilskyi community received a passenger bus, which has already been delivered to the city. This assistance represents a tangible outcome of cooperation between the two communities.
The support provided by the Latvian community is particularly important in the context of the full-scale war and demonstrates Livani’s practical solidarity with Ukraine.
Cooperation between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Livani has a long history and encompasses various areas of interaction. Over the years, contacts have developed in the fields of cultural exchange, municipal partnership, humanitarian support, and the establishment of professional ties.
The partnership contributes to the exchange of experience, the development of intercultural dialogue, and the establishment of new contacts between representatives of the communities, institutions, and organizations. Cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres is of particular importance, creating opportunities for joint initiatives and strengthening mutual understanding.
In 2026, cooperation gained new momentum through intensified contacts and the development of practical areas of partnership. The two sides continue to work towards expanding their partnership ties and launching new joint initiatives.
