Establishment of the Twinning Partnership

Official materials of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council state that the twinning agreement between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Ottange was signed in March 2022. Since then, relations between the two communities have developed on the basis of partnership, mutual support and solidarity.

The twinning partnership was established shortly after the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which gave the new partnership particular significance and highlighted the important role of mutual support between the two communities.

Strengthening the Partnership

An important milestone in the development of relations was the signing of the Declaration of Solidarity between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Ottange in May 2026 during the City Day celebrations in Kamianets-Podilskyi. The document reaffirmed the continuation of the partnership dialogue and mutual support.

In May 2026, Kamianets-Podilskyi welcomed a delegation from Ottange during the City Day celebrations. Alongside representatives of other European cities, the French partners took part in the events, demonstrating their support for the Ukrainian community and their commitment to continuing intermunicipal cooperation.

Promising Areas of Cooperation

The twinning partnership creates opportunities for further development of intermunicipal contacts, cultural exchange, joint initiatives and the sharing of experience. The official investment portal of Kamianets-Podilskyi identifies cultural exchange, educational and youth projects, economic cooperation, and support for sustainable development as key areas of cooperation between the community and its international partners.

For both communities, the partnership also provides an opportunity to maintain direct contacts among residents, local government representatives and civic initiatives.
