Ponte Lambro
The partnership between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Ponte Lambro has been a long-standing component of the international cooperation of the Kamianets-Podilskyi community. Officially established on 7 October 2006, the partnership has provided a foundation for maintaining intermunicipal contacts and fostering cooperation between the Ukrainian and Italian sides.
Establishment of the Partnership
According to the official website of the Municipality of Ponte Lambro, the partnership with Kamianets-Podilskyi was established on 7 October 2006. This date marks the official beginning of the partnership between the two communities and is also confirmed in Ukrainian materials, where Ponte Lambro is listed among Kamianets-Podilskyi’s international partners.
Sports Cooperation and Football Exchange in 2026
In 2026, the partnership between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Ponte Lambro was further developed through sports cooperation. In July 2026, the team of Lyceum No. 5, winners of the 2026 City Championship for the Mayor’s Cup, travelled to Ponte Lambro to participate in a friendly football match against a local team. The Kamianets-Podilskyi team consisted of 16 young football players.
The visit provided an opportunity for sports exchange, establishing personal contacts among young athletes, and strengthening partnership ties between the communities. The trip was organized with the support of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council, which allocated UAH 260,000 from the city budget for its organization.
The football exchange became one of the practical manifestations of the partnership established in 2006 and demonstrated the potential for its further development through youth and sports cooperation. The participation of young athletes in international activities contributes to expanding contacts between the communities and creates new opportunities for further cooperation.
