Sanok County
The partnership between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Sanok County (Poland) is one of the areas of Ukrainian-Polish intermunicipal cooperation. Sanok County is officially listed among the international partners of the Kamianets-Podilskyi community.
Relations between the two sides developed in the context of the expansion of Kamianets-Podilskyi’s international ties with Polish local government authorities. As of 1 December 2008, Sanok County was already among Kamianets-Podilskyi’s partners, alongside the Polish cities of Kalisz, Kraków, Głogów, Zawiercie, Sanok and others. This indicates that cooperation between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Sanok County had already been formally established by that time.
Municipal Dialogue and Exchange of Experience
One of the important areas of the partnership was the exchange of experience in the field of local self-government. Accordingly, in 2015, representatives of Sanok County held a meeting with a delegation from Kamianets-Podilskyi County. According to the official minutes of a meeting of the Board of Sanok County, the visit was a continuation of a dialogue initiated by a letter from the Kamianets-Podilskyi side to the Starosta of Sanok County concerning cooperation focused on the exchange of experience in the activities of local self-government authorities.
Current Status of the Partnership
Today, Sanok County remains an official partner of the Kamianets-Podilskyi community. It is included in the list of international partners of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council, alongside the city of Sanok and other Polish partners.
The partnership between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Sanok County developed as part of long-standing Ukrainian-Polish cooperation and is based primarily on intermunicipal dialogue, the exchange of experience, and direct contacts between local government representatives. The inclusion of the partnership in the official lists of both sides provides a basis for its further development, the expansion of professional contacts, and the implementation of joint initiatives.
