Zalău

The partnership between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Zalău is one of the areas of the Kamianets-Podilskyi community’s international cooperation. Zalău is officially listed among Kamianets-Podilskyi’s partner cities on the community’s investment portal, while the Zalău municipal authorities also include Kamianets-Podilskyi among their partner cities.

Development of the Partnership

Cooperation between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Zalău has an official basis and dates back to 2003. A decision to initiate cooperation was adopted by the Zalău Local Council on 1 July 2003, while in 2005 the partnership was further formalized by a decision dated 29 August.

The established partnership provided for the exchange of information and experience, the development of economic contacts, as well as cooperation in the cultural and educational fields. Thus, the partnership laid the foundation for maintaining intermunicipal dialogue and created opportunities for the further development of ties between the Ukrainian and Romanian communities.

Current State of the Partnership

The partnership between Kamianets-Podilskyi and Zalău continues to this day. Zalău is officially listed among the international partners of the Kamianets-Podilskyi community, confirming the continuation of intermunicipal relations.

The established partnership provides opportunities for further exchange of experience, maintaining dialogue between local government representatives, and developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Such ties are particularly important in the context of expanding the international cooperation of Ukrainian communities and strengthening connections with European partners.

The partnership also provides a foundation for identifying new areas of cooperation, developing cultural and educational contacts, supporting economic interaction, and potentially launching joint initiatives in the future.
